10 minThree ingredients, no oven, and kids can do the whole thing themselves. Mix peanut butter, honey, and powdered milk together until it forms a soft dough, then shape it into balls, animals, or whatever their imagination comes up with. Then they eat it.
The powdered milk acts as the “flour” here, absorbing the wet ingredients and giving the dough enough structure to hold a shape. Creamy peanut butter works best for a smooth, pliable texture. If the dough feels too sticky, add more powdered milk a tablespoon at a time. Too dry? A drizzle more honey loosens it up.
Buttering your hands before shaping prevents sticking and makes rolling easier. This is a great rainy day activity or a hands-on snack for little ones learning their way around the kitchen. The dough tastes like a peanut butter candy, sweet and slightly chewy.
Chef Tips
- Use creamy, not crunchy, peanut butter for the smoothest dough. Crunchy makes it harder for small hands to shape
- If the dough is too soft to hold shapes, chill it in the fridge for 10 minutes to firm up
- Roll finished shapes in sprinkles, mini chocolate chips, or shredded coconut for fun coatings
Variations
- Swap peanut butter for almond butter or sunflower seed butter for a nut-free school-safe version
- Add a tablespoon of cocoa powder for chocolate peanut butter dough
- Press an M&M or raisin into each ball for a surprise center
