20 minThis is the homemade answer to those boxed beef-and-noodle dinners, minus the mystery preservatives. You mix up a big batch of seasoning to keep in the pantry, then scoop out what you need for a fast, one-pot supper any night.
Making the seasoning mix ahead is the genius of it. Everything goes into a ziploc, gets a good shake, and you’ve got enough blend for several dinners ready to go. When supper time comes, brown the ground beef, add mushrooms, water, and a few tablespoons of the mix, then stir in egg noodles and let it all simmer together.
The clever part is that the noodles cook right in the seasoned liquid, soaking up flavor while their starch thickens everything into a creamy sauce. Once they’re tender, a few minutes uncovered lets the sauce reduce and cling. One pot, no separate pasta water to drain.

- Cook the noodles right in the liquid. Their starch is what thickens the sauce, so don’t drain them.

Ingredients
1 cup dry non-fat milk
1 TBS onion powder
1TBS garlic powder
1 tsp Black pepper
1 tsp salt ?
1/4 tsp basil
1/4 tsp oregano ?
1 tsp Paprika
1/8 tsp Cayenne ?
4 Tablespoons Brown Gravy Mix ? 1/4 tsp ground celery seed ?
2 TBS Cornstarch
Directions
Measure all ingredients into a large ziploc bag, seal and shake until well combined. Makes approx 26 Tbs. Beef Noodle Dinner 1- 12 oz pkg of egg noodles 1- ½ lb of lean ground beef 7½ tablespoons of Beef Noodle Seasoning Mix 1 can mushroom stem and pieces, drained 6½ cups water
Brown hamburger & Drain. Add mushrooms & hot water. Stir in the seasoning mix. Add the noodles and bring to a boil. Reduce heat to simmer, cover, cook 15 to 17 minutes.
