| 1/2 | teaspoon | cinnamon, ground | |
| 1/4 | teaspoon | ginger | ground |
| 1/8 | teaspoon | cloves, ground | or allspice |
| 1/8 | teaspoon | nutmeg |
Mix all spices together in a small bowl.
Makes 1 teaspoon of pumpkin pie spice.
For a fresher taste use fresh nutmeg, allspice berries, whole cloves and grind it yourself in a coffee grinder. Use ground cinnamon instead of grinding cinnamon sticks as the ground cinnamon is of a much higher quality than the whole sticks.
