Ingredients

1 cup sugar granulated
3 large eggs beaten
29 ounces pumpkin (canned)
2 teaspoons cinnamon, ground
1/2 teaspoon ginger ground
1/4 teaspoon cloves, ground
1/2 teaspoon salt
12 ounces evaporated milk
1 pound cake mix, yellow
1 cup nuts chopped
4 tablespoons butter sweet, melted
1 x whipped cream

Directions

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.

Mix together sugar, eggs, pumpkin, cinnamon, ginger, cloves, salt and milk.

Line a 9 x 13-inch pan with wax paper and pour the mixture in.

Sprinkle the dry cake mix on top, then sprinkle the nuts.

Pour melted butter evenly over the cake mix and nuts.

Bake at 350 degrees F for 50-60 minutes.

Cool (very important).

Flip over and remove from pan.

Remove the wax paper.

Top with whipped cream (which would dissolve if the cake weren't cooled first).

I HAVE BEEN LOOKING FOR THIS RECIPE FOR A LONG TIME. I FIRST SAW IT BACK IN 1995 OR 1996 IN TASTE OF HOME MAGAZINE AND IT WAS DELICIOUS!! TRY ADDING A LITTLE BROWN SUGAR TO THE TOMATO SAUCE MIXTURE. IT MAKES A PERFECT GLAZE FOR THESE MEATBALLS.
