| 1/2 | cup | sugar | |
| 1/2 | cup | brown sugar | |
| 1/2 | cup | butter | or margarine, softened |
| 1/2 | cup | peanut butter | |
| 1 | teaspoon | vanilla extract | |
| 1 | each | egg | |
| 1 1/4 | cups | flour, all-purpose | |
| 1 | teaspoon | baking soda | |
| 1/2 | teaspoon | salt | |
| 4 | teaspoons | sugar |
Heat oven to 375 degrees F.
In large bowl, combine sugar, brown sugar and margarine; beat until light and fluffy.
Add peanut butter, vanilla and egg, blend well.
Lightly spoon flour into measuring cup, level off.
Add flour, baking soda and salt, mix well.
Shape dough into 1 inch balls.
Place 2 inches apart on ungreased cookie sheets. With fork dipped in sugar, flatten balls in crisscross pattern.
Bake at 375 degrees F. for 6 to 9 minutes or until golden brown and set.
Immediately remove from cookie sheets.
