Ingredients

4 each garlic cloves minced
1 teaspoon cumin
1 each yellow onion chopped
1 package pinto beans washed, soaked the night before
3 cups beef broth
1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper
1 1/2 pounds beef, sirloin tip sirloin tips, cubed
4 tablespoons chili powder

Directions

Saute the beef, onions and garlic.

Add to the beans, add beef stock, salt and pepper to taste, cayenne and chili powder.

Simmer gently until beans are tender, about 2 1/2 hours.

Toasted Pita and Pinto Bean Salad

For a side dish, this salad is wonderful. Easy to make and nice flavor, the leftover still can be very tasty, but have to seperate the lettuce and toasted pita bread.
