Chocolate Cherry Cake and Frosting

Ingredients

cake
1package cake mix, devils food with pudding
1/2cup sour cream dairy
2large eggs beaten
1teaspoon almond extract
21ounces cherry pie filling
frosting
6ounces chocolate chips (semi-sweet)
4tablespoons margarine or butter
2 1/2cups powdered sugar sifted
1/2teaspoon almond extract
3 to 5tablespoons milk

Directions

CAKE: Mix together cake mix, sour cream, eggs, almond extract and pie filling by hand.

Pour into a greased and floured 9 x 13-inch pan.

Bake in a 350 degrees F oven for 45-50 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center of the cake comes out clean.

Cool 5-10 minutes and top with frosting.

FROSTING: Melt chocolate chips and margarine or butter together.

Stir in powdered sugar, almond extract and milk to spreading consistency.

Spread warm frosting on warm cake.
