Think of these as the ultimate shortcut to a hot, melty tuna sandwich.

Canned tuna gets mixed with chopped hard-boiled eggs, sharp cheddar, crunchy green pepper, and just enough mustard to wake everything up.

Pile the filling into split hamburger buns, pop them in the microwave, and you’ve got a warm, gooey lunch or dinner in under 10 minutes.

This is the kind of recipe that earns a permanent spot in your weeknight rotation.

Kitchen Tips

  • Drain your tuna well by pressing it against the side of the can or using a fine mesh strainer. Excess liquid makes soggy buns.
  • Use sharp cheddar rather than mild for bolder flavor in such a quick cook.
  • Toast the buns lightly before filling if you prefer a bit of crunch against the creamy filling.
