Ingredients

1 1/2 cups brown sugar
1 cup vegetable shortening
2 large eggs well beaten
3 cups flour, all-purpose
2 tablespoons milk, sweetened condensed
2 cups rolled oats
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 cup molasses
1 1/4 cups mincemeat
2 tablespoons water
4 teaspoons baking powder

Directions

Cream shortening and sugar.

Add eggs, molasses, milk, water, and mince-meat.

Sift flour, measure, and sift with salt and baking powder.

Add rolled oats.

Combine with first mixture. Mix thoroughly. Drop by teaspoonfuls onto well-oiled baking sheet.

Bake in hot oven (410 F) 15-20 minutes.

45 servings.

Shrimp Etouffee Serves

Basically recipe is good, BUT, needs some fine chopped bell peppers, I used approx. 1/2 cup, needs 1/2 can or so of water...without it etouffee is to thick, needs about 3/4 to 1 tsp. of Crab Boil. Finally needs bit more cooking then the 20 min's. they call for. I cooked about 35-40 min's. as I used jumbo shrimp. Other then these few things I found the recipe almost true "Cajun".
