| 10 | ounces | soup, tomato | condensed |
| 1 | cup | water | or red wine |
| 1/4 | cup | flour, all-purpose | |
| 2 | pounds | beef | cut in 1 inch chunks |
| 3 | each | carrots | cut in 1 inch chunks |
| 6 | each | onions | quartered |
| 4 | each | potatoes | medium, cut into 1 inch chunks |
| 1/2 | cup | celery | 1 inch chunks |
| 12 | each | mushrooms | large, fresh |
| 2 | each | beef bouillon cubes | |
| 1 | tablespoon | italian herb seasoning | |
| 1 | each | bay leaf | |
| 3 | dash | black pepper | fresh |
Mix together tomato soup, water/wine and flour until smooth; combine with renaining ingredients in covered roasting pan.
Bake at 275 degrees for 4-5 hours.
When ready to serve, adjust seasoning, if desired.
Coleslaw is a nice winter accompaniment or serve fresh tomatoes on a bed of lettuce in summer.
