suggest servings
| 2 | tablespoons | butter | |
| 1/2 | cup | onion | chopped |
| 1/2 | cup | sweet bell pepper | chopped |
| 1 | pound | ground beef | |
| 4 | oz | tomato paste | |
| 1 | tablespoon | ketchup | |
| 1/2 | cup | water | |
| 1 | x | salt | to taste |
| 1 | x | black pepper | to taste |
Using medium heat, melt butter in a skillet.
Saute onion and pepper until limp, but not brown.
Add beef and cook until browned.
Add the tomato paste and the ketchup.
stir until all the ingredients are incorporated.
Slowly add the water while constantly stirring.
Cook over low heat for 15 minutes. It will thicken.
Add salt and pepper to taste.
serve on hamburger buns.
This was realy good. A big hit and easy too. I did cheat and use 1/2cup of salsa instead of peppers because I didn't want to go to the store. I added garlic, paprika and cumin. Turned out great

Great way to serve brocolli. I add a bit of lemon juice, smidge of seasame oil (tastes more like Asian brocolli than Italian). Cook/steam the brocolli in a few tablespoons of water in a pot with a tight fitting lid instead of boiling. No more than 5 minutes in my opinion or it's overdone.
