| 1/3 | cup | margarine | or butter |
| 1/3 | cup | flour, all-purpose | |
| 1/2 | teaspoon | salt | |
| 2 1/2 | cups | milk | |
| 4 | cups | gouda cheese | shredded |
| 1 | cup | apple juice |
Melt margarine or butter in a saucepan over low heat.
Blend in flour and salt.
Gradually add milk; cook, stirring constantly, until thickened.
Add cheese, stirring until melted.
Add juice; heat thoroughly, stirring occasionally.
Makes four 1 1/4 cup servings.
