35 minThese guilt-free brownies use applesauce to replace some of the traditional fat, creating a lighter texture that’s more cake than fudge but still deeply chocolatey from Dutch cocoa powder.
Liquid sweetener keeps the sugar content lower while maintaining sweetness, and the quick 20-minute bake time means you can satisfy a chocolate craving fast.
The texture sits somewhere between a brownie and chocolate cake - perfect for those who prefer a softer, more tender bite.
Kitchen Tips
- Use unsweetened applesauce to control sweetness levels
- Sift the cocoa to prevent lumps in the finished brownies
- Watch closely after 18 minutes - these bake quickly and can dry out if overbaked
- Cool completely in pan before cutting for best texture
