| 1/3 | cup | bread crumbs | |

| 1/8 | teaspoon | black pepper | |
| 1 | large | onion | cut in eighths |
| 3 | each | carrots | peeled, split |
| 4 | stalks | celery | cut up |
| 1 | teaspoon | basil | |
| 1/3 | cup | tapioca, quick-cooking | |
| 4 | ounces | mushrooms | sliced |
| 2 | cans | soup, tomato | |
| 1 | cup | beef broth |
Wipe beef cubes well.
Combine bread crumbs with salt and pepper and toss with beef.
Place coated beef cubes in Crock-Pot and add remaining ingredients; stir well.
Cover and cook on Low for 10 to 12 hours or on High for 3 to 5 hours.
