Hough Bakery is out of business now, they used to sell it at Acme/Click.
We have tryed several different recipes, but can
not match the taste. They usually iced it too,
which caused a problem since it caught on fire in the toaster oven HAHA
Also, what loaves we have tryed to make and bake have turned out with big air holes in the middle,
what are we doing wrong ?
I found where the Hough Bakery recipes are but I can't get to them :( . They are in a book called Recipes by Robert S Pile. Mr. Pile was the baker for Hough Bakeries.
The only place that the book can be found (as far as I know) is a reference copy at Cleveland Main Library in the Science and Technology section. Any volunteers to make xerox copies?????

Worth the drive! 07/11/2006 Posted by christi825
Archie's bakery is my favorite! I live on the westside but it is definitely worth the drive.
If you loved Hough bakery you'll love Archie's.
My favorites are the white cake and chocolate fudge cake. Archie is awesome!
