Cheese Hounds
Submitted by Randall
Bacon-wrapped hot dogs stuffed with melty cheddar cheese, broiled until crispy. These cheese hounds are ready in 15 minutes and always a hit with kids.

15 minThree ingredients. Fifteen minutes. One legendary hot dog.
Slit a wiener down the middle, stuff it with a strip of cheddar, wrap the whole thing in bacon, and broil until that bacon gets shatteringly crisp and the cheese oozes out in golden ribbons.
Tuck them into buns and try not to eat three before anyone else gets to the table.
These are the hot dogs your kids will be requesting every single weekend.
Pro Tips
- Use toothpicks to secure the bacon so it doesn’t unravel under the broiler
- Turn them frequently so the bacon crisps evenly on all sides
- Let them rest for a minute after broiling so the cheese firms up just enough to stay inside the bun
Variations
- Swap cheddar for pepper jack if your crew can handle some heat
- Grill these over charcoal instead of broiling for a smoky backyard flavor
- Go full loaded dog with diced onions, jalapeños, and a drizzle of mustard
