Spinach Calzone Pizzas

Ingredients

1 loaf bread dough thawed from frozen
8 ounces mozarella cheese, fat-free shredded
10 ounces spinach thawed from frozen, chopped, well-drained
6 ounces tomato paste
1/4 cup onion finely chopped
4 ounces mushrooms, canned stems and pieces, drained
1 cloves garlic peeled, minced or pressed
2 tablespoons red wine

Directions

Heat oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit.

Divide bread dough into 6 equal pieces.

On baking sheets sprayed with non-stick cooking spray, pat each piece into a 7-inch circle.

Combine remaining ingredients; mix lightly.

Spoon approximately 1/2 cup of mixture onto half of each circle.

Fold dough over filling; moisten edges and press together with fork to seal.

Cut small slit in top of each calzone; lightly spray with cooking spray.

Bake at 375 degrees Fahreneit for 15 to 18 minutes or until golden brown.

This pie is easy to make - the ginger seems to make it special without being overpowering and it's a nice change from apple! I've used different varieties of pears and all work well. Be careful the edges of the pie crust doesn't burn!
