Ingredients

6 each tomatoes medium size or
2 pounds italian plum (roma) tomatoes
1 each onion chopped
1 each celery stalk,
2 cups chicken broth
1 tablespoon tomato paste
1/2 teaspoon basil dried
1/4 teaspoon black pepper freshly ground
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup yogurt

Directions

Cut tomatoes into wedges and place in 1 1/2-quart saucepan with all ingredients except yogurt.

Simmer uncovered 30 minutes.

Strain to remove tomato skins and seeds.

Adjust seasonings. Garnish with spoonfuls of yogurt.

Almond Syrup

My mom wrote this cookbook and I have to admit that I like her orange syrup much better. She would make it for her Baklahvah, but I would use it on pancakes!! BTW - har name is Viviane ALSCHECH Miner, not Bicheck. Wonder where that name came from.
