Old fashioned banna pudding

Can someone please help. My mother use to make it from scrach. She cooked the pudding part on stove but not with flour as an ingredient. I know she started by using milk she called it scalding it but that is about all I can remember.
Please help if you can.

I found this one...no flour, just cornstarch..found it at recipezaar.com

Old Fashioned Banana Pudding Recipe #32625
Nothing better!!
1 cup sugar
3 eggs, beaten
1 dash salt
2 tablespoons cornstarch
2 cups milk
1 teaspoon vanilla
3-4 ripe bananas, sliced
vanilla wafers

6-8 servings Change size or US/metric
Change to: servings US Metric

1 hour 40 mins prep
Mix sugar and eggs together.
Add salt, cornstarch, and milk.
Bring to a boil over medium-high heat, stirring constantly; cook until thickened.
Remove from heat; add vanilla and mix well.
In serving bowl, layer the wafers, bananas, and the pudding.
