Many of my recipes use alcohol - red wine, vodka and so on but I'm worried about using these recipes for my boyfriend who is a recovering alcoholic.
Should I look for substitutes for these ingredients or is it 'safe' to use them?

I don't think it would be a problem as the alcohol itself would be boiled off leaving just the flavor.
However, having bottles of alcohol around the house or say 1/2 a bottle of wine in the fridge might prove a bit challenging or tempting.
