Paul Bunyan Cookies

I have lost a recipe from about 1970. It was a refrigerator cookie recipe from a magazine (don't remember which one, as I read almost all of them). The recipe was called Paul Bunyan Cookies.

The things I do remember about it (besides being my children's favorite cookie) is:

This was a refrigerator cookie. The recipe made a large amount of dough that was divided into three equal parts. One part became a chocolate cookie dough. Part two became a spice flavored cookie dough and the final part was just colored red (or pink) and left plain otherwise. The dough was then packed into a 1/2 gallon, cardboard milk carton, one layer of each. It was then covered, placed in the refrigerator and finally sliced into 1/8 inch slices and baked. When the cookies were done they were about 3 x 4 inches and they were so delicious. I have searched and searched for this recipe with no luck. Please help!! Thanks. Deanna
