hi all Merry holidays i have been searching for a recipe called velvet i think. i lost it in a fire and my hubby loves it and i wanna make it for Christmas
i know the basics here it is
2 types jello slice bannans and crushed pineapple
top with marshmallows and chill the topping is weird pimento spread Pineapple juice and i believe cool whip i need directions for topping.
pimento spread is in it im sure of that one those little jars of spread ill be so grateful for any help Thank you

PIMENTO SPREAD

1 lb. old fashion cheese,
grated
13 oz. evaporated milk
1 small jar pimento, chopped
4 Tbsp. mayonnaise
1 Tbsp. vinegar
1 tsp. salt
Melt cheese and milk in double boiler, stirring occa-
sionally. Cool and add the other ingredients. Makes about 1
quart.
RED VELVET SALAD

1 (3 oz.) pkg. lemon jello
2 c. boiling water
16 marshmallows, chopped
1 (8 oz.) crushed pineapple
1 c. mayonnaise
1 (3 oz.) pkg. cream cheese
1 (3 oz.) pkg. black raspberry
jello
Dissolve lemon jello in water; add marshmallows. Stir
until melted. Cool until syrupy. Stir in pineapple. Combine
mayonnaise and cream cheese. Stir in pineapple mixture. Pour
into 8 cup serving dish. Chill until set. Make raspberry
jello according to package. Cool a little, then pour over
first mixture. Chill until both layers are set.

Yield: 6 Servings
2 cup Crushed pineapple
1 pack Lemon flavored gelatin
1 tablespoon Unflavored gelatin
2 tablespoon Cold water
Juice 1 lemon
1/4 cup Chopped pimento
1/2 cup Chopped nuts
1 Stalk celery, chopped
6 Marshmallows, quartered
1 cup Whipping cream
6 ounce Cream cheese
⅛ teaspoon Salt
Drain juice from pineapple. Add water to make 2 cups. Heat to boiling. Pour over lemon flavored gelatin, and the unflavored gelatin, which has been softened in cold water. Stir until dissolved. Add lemon juice and salt. Mix thoroughly. Cool until partially set. Add pineapple which has been mixed with cream cheese, pimento, nuts, and celery. Add marshmallows.
Fold in whipped cream. Pour into mold which has been rinsed in cold water. Let stand in cold place 12 hours.

PINEAPPLE-CHEESE SALAD

2 pkg. lemon flavor gelatin
2 c. boiling water
2 c. cold water
6 bananas, peeled and sliced
2 c. miniature or cut up
marshmallows
1/2 c. sugar
3 Tbsp. cornstarch
2 (8 1/2 oz.) cans crushed
pineapple, not drained
1 c. heavy cream or 2 pkg.
Dream Whip
1 c. shredded Longhorn cheese
Dissolve gelatin in boiling water; add cold water and
chill until syrupy. Stir in sliced bananas and marshmallows.
Pour into 9 x 13 x 2-inch pan. Chill until set. Mix sugar and
cornstarch; add to undrained pineapple. Cook over medium heat,
stirring constantly until thickened. Cool. Whip heavy cream
and fold into cooled pineapple mixture along with half of the
shredded cheese. Spread mixture on congealed lemon gelatin.
Sprinkle remainder of shredded cheese over top. Chill over-
night. Cut in squares, will serve 12 or 15 people.

maybe i didnt explain the recipe very well
you pour made jellos in a baking dish add crush pineapple and bananas top with marshmallow and chill its the topping you use juice and pimento spread and i dont know what else cook it and you cool and add cool whip and put this all over the top put in fridg over night and serve like a square cake. im not sure why its called velvet salad or if thats the real name. my foster mom got this recipe yrs ago lots yrs haha from her hair dresser Thanks so much hugs butterfly

PIMENTO CHEESE SALAD
Ingredients
1 small jar Kraft pimento cheese
3 T. sugar
3 t. mayonaise
1 C. curshed pineapple, undrained
1 C. small marshmallows
1/3 C. nuts, chopped
1 small container of Cool Whip
Directions
Mix all ingredients together and refrigerate.

VELVET SALAD
1 sm. pkg. lemon Jello
1 sm. pkg. orange Jello
2 c. boiling water
1-1 1/2 c. cold water
1 #2 can crushed pineapple, crushed
2-3 bananas, chopped
1 pkg. miniature marshmallows
TOPPING:
2 tbsp. butter
1/2 c. sugar
1 c. pineapple juice
1 sm. jar pimento cheese
1 beaten egg
2 tsp. flour
1 pkg. Dream Whip
Salad: Dissolve Jello in hot water. Add cold
water, stir in pineapple and chunks of bananas.
Pour in 9 x 13 inch pan. Cover with marshmallows. Let set until firm.
Topping: Mix butter, flour, sugar, pineapple juice and egg together; cook over low heat until thick. Add cheese; mix well. Let set until cold.
Beat Dream Whip. Mix with cooked ingredients and spread over salad.
