I'm looking for a recipe for an appetizer I had several years ago that was served at the Airport Hilton Hotel in Alcoa, TN. It was simple, a lone piece of bacon skewered on a toothpick, sweet and probably oven baked. I have no idea what it was called. I appreciate any help to find this recipe or something similar.
I think this is what you're talking about.
Take a half piece of raw bacon and wrap it around a water crest. Run a wooden toothpick through it to hold it in place. Soak in a shallow pan of soy sauce for a little while, then roll each skewered bacon bite in sugar. Bake (I can't remember if it's at 350 or 400) until the bacon is cooked. Yum.
