Recipe Talk

Does anyone have the recipe for Space Bar cookies? I think they were around in the 70's-80's. I have searched the web, and get so many hits because of the name "space bar" that I cant get through them all.

ps. this is like a peanut buter bar cookie, and no it doesn't have any "illegal" ingredients in it. Thanks!

SPACE COOKIES

1/2 c. butter or margarine
1 c. sugar
1 egg
1 tsp. vanilla
1 c. all-purpose flour
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. baking soda
2 c. Cheerios
1/2 c. M&M's

Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Cream together butter and sugar.
Add egg and vanilla. Beat until fluffy. Stir together flour,
salt and baking soda. Add to creamed mixture. Blend well.
Stir in cereal and candies. Drop by rounded teaspoons onto
ungreased baking sheet 2-inches apart. Bake 8 to 11 minutes or
until lightly browned. Let cool 1 minute on baking sheet
before removing.
Note: Stir flour, then spoon into measuring cup. Makes
about 4 dozen.
