1.Rice – 1 cup
2.Milk – 3 cups
3.Jaggery – 1 cup, crushed
4.Condensed milk – ¼ cup
5.Cardamom – 1 tsp.
6.Cashew & almond – ¼ cup finely chopped
7.Ghee – 1 tsp.
8.Lemon yellow food colour – 3 drop
9.Saffron – a pinch
10.Dried fruits
Ingredients
1.Rice – 1 cup
2.Milk – 3 cups
3.Jaggery – 1 cup, crushed
4.Condensed milk – ¼ cup
5.Cardamom – 1 tsp.
6.Cashew & almond – ¼ cup finely chopped
7.Ghee – 1 tsp.
8.Lemon yellow food colour – 3 drop
9.Saffron – a pinch
10.Dried fruits
Directions
1.First soak rice for one hour and grind into a smooth paste later
2.Now boil some milk in a vessel and while its boiling, add the ground rice, jaggery and condensed milk to the boiling milk
3.Keep stirring till it thickens, it thickens in no time
4.Now add cardamom powder and stir well, turning the flame to simmer
5.While that’s simmering, in another pan stir-fry dried-fruits in ghee
6.Once the dried-fruits turn golden-brown, add it to the rice kalakand that is on simmer
7.Now mix some food colour in a small bowl with 2 tsp. milk to prepare the saffron milk
8.Add this saffron milk to the rice kalakand and give it a good mix, this adds intense flavour
9.Now turn off the stove and let it rest for sometime
10.Refrigerate your delicious rice kalakand for two hours
11.Serve cold!
