How to Cook Easiest Roast Chicken

There is nothing like a well-cooked juicy roast chicken! A couple of ingredients with a no-fuss preparation makes chicken roast the perfect meal to cook when you have unexpected guests over or just want to enjoy a simple dinner after a long day. It’s hard to wrong with super easy, quick & highly loved recipe. Rub the chicken with few flavoursome ingredients, plop it in the oven and voila, a super juicy, crispy-skinned and tender-fleshed roast chicken is ready in to be devoured!

Ingredients

- 1 whole chicken
- 1 tbsp Dabur Hommade Ginger Paste
- 1 tbsp Dabur Hommade Garlic Paste
- 2 bay leaves
- 1 tsp dried rosemary
- 1 onion, roughly sliced
- 50 gm softened butter
- 1 lemon
- Salt to taste

For the side dish:
- 1 potato (peeled & diced in cubes)
- 1 rosemary sprig
- 2 garlic cloves
- 1 tbsp butter
- Salt to taste

Ingredients

- 1 whole chicken
- 1 tbsp Dabur Hommade Ginger Paste
- 1 tbsp Dabur Hommade Garlic Paste
- 2 bay leaves
- 1 tsp dried rosemary
- 1 onion, roughly sliced
- 50 gm softened butter
- 1 lemon
- Salt to taste

For the side dish:
- 1 potato (peeled & diced in cubes)
- 1 rosemary sprig
- 2 garlic cloves
- 1 tbsp butter
- Salt to taste

Directions

  • Pre-heat the oven at 220
  • To the butter add rosemary, garlic paste & ginger paste, salt and mix
  • Massage the butter mix all over the chicken. Make sure to rub the insides of the chicken as well to flavour it from all sides
  • Cut the lemon into half. Use the juice of one half of the lemon to sprinkle all over the chicken and stuff the other half inside the chicken. Doing so will add a fresh and tangy taste to the dish.
  • Cut the bay leaves into small pieces and spread it across the tray
  • Spread the roughly chopped slices of onion all over the tray and also over the chicken
  • Now put the tray into the oven and let it cook on 220 degrees for about 20 minutes
  • After 20 minutes, bring down the temperature to 190 degrees and cook for another 45 minutes or until the juices run clear when you pierce the chicken through the knife
  • Take the chicken out from the oven and leave it to rest for about 15 minutes

How to prepare the side dish?

  • Heat butter in a pan
  • Add crush the garlic and throw it into the pan
  • Fry it till light to golden brown
  • Now add the potatoes and rosemary sprig
  • Cook till the potatoes turn crispy & golden brown
  • Season well
  • Once cooked, take it off the pan and transfer to a dish or a bowl

Sauce for the roast chicken:

  • The juice from the chicken roast can be used to prepare a delicious sauce
  • Transfer the leftover juices from the roast tray to a pan
  • You can add seasoning to it as per your taste
  • Let the juice simmer till reaches a thick sauce like consistency

How to serve:

  • Carve the roast chicken that has been resting for a while now with the help of a knife
  • Place the chicken pieces on a plate
  • Put the crispy potatoes on the side
  • Take a ladleful of the sauce and pour it over the chicken and potatoes
  • Garnish with fresh rosemary sprigs
  • Serve hot

Tips to prepare a delectable roast chicken recipe:

  • If time allows, season the chicken and leave to rest in the refrigerator for an hour before putting it in the oven. Doing so will result in a crispier skin for the chicken.
  • Kitchen shears come handy in trimming excess fat from the chicken’s cavity
  • If you preheat the skillet the oven and then lay the bird into the hot pan, the chicken will get a head start and a result it will gives you a very evenly cooked and crispier bird
