| 1/4 | cup | butter | or margarine, softened |
| 1 | cup | sugar | |
| 3/4 | cup | peanut butter | |
| 1 | large | egg | |
| 1 1/4 | cups | flour, all-purpose | |
| 1 | teaspoon | baking soda | |
| 1/2 | teaspoon | cinnamon | ground |
| 1/4 | teaspoon | nutmeg | ground |
| 1 | cup | applesauce |
Cream the butter. Gradually add the granulated sugar, blending well. Add the peanut butter and egg and blend well. Combine the flour, baking soda, salt, cinnamon and nutmeg, mixing well. Add to the creamed mixture alternately with the applesauce.
Pour the batter into a greased 8-inch square pan. Bake in a preheated 350 Degree F. oven for about 40 minutes or until a wooden pick inserted in the center comes out clean. Cool, in the pan, for 10 minutes and cut into squares.
I made these with splenda brand sweetner instead of sugar and they where delicious, even my boyfriend loved them it's a great way to reduce the calories. Super great for diabetics! Just sub splenda 1 cup instaed of sugar,and follow recipe as is.

When individuals contemplate what to make for their Thanksgiving or Christmas dinner, there's 1/2s usually more indecision regarding the side dishes. After all, the Thanksgiving turkey is perfunctory and Christmas will inevitably......
This is a fantastic recipe, I followed ingredients and direcitons exaclty, and the galette was delicious, and I love the black olives mixing in whole wheat dough, looked nicer and very tasty, I think I will make it as a Christmas dish.
