| 1/2 | pound | ground beef | extra lean |
| 15 | ounces | kidney beans | drained, liquid reserved |
| 1/3 | cup | bean liquid | |
| 1 | cup | tomato puree | canned, no salt added |
| 1 | tablespoon | onion | instant, minced |
| 1 1/2 | tablespoon | chili powder |
Cook beef in hot fry pan until lightly browned. Drain off fat. Stir in remaining ingredients. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat, cover and simmer for 10 minutes.
This will make 4 servings of about 3/4 cup each.
