| 3 | cups | flour, all-purpose | |
| 2 | teaspoons | baking powder | |
| 1 | teaspoon | salt | |
| 1 | cup | vegetable shortening | |
| 2 | cups | sugar | |
| 4 | large | eggs | well beaten |
| 1 | cup | milk | |
| 1 | teaspoon | vanilla extract | |
| 1/2 | cup | malted milk powder | chocolate-flavoured |
Cream sugar and shortening until fluffy.
Sift flour, baking powder and salt together.
Beat eggs very well then add milk and vanilla and mix well.
Beat egg mixture into sugar mixture alternately with flour mixture.
Place two cups of the batter in second bowl.
Add 1/2 cup chocolate malted milk powder.
BLEND well. Spoon yellow and malted batters alternately into 10 inch tube pan well, greased and floured on bottom only.
Bake 350 degrees F. 60-70 minutes or until done.
Frost then put under broiler for 2-5 minutes until delicately browned.
