Ingredients

6 each tomatoes, green chopped
6 each apples tart, chopped
1 cup currants
1 cup raisins, seedless
3 teaspoons cinnamon ground
1 teaspoon cloves ground
1/2 teaspoon allspice
1/2 teaspoon ginger ground
1/4 cup vinegar
1 tablespoon orange zest grated
1/2 cup orange juice unsweetened

Directions

Combine all ingredients in a large, heavy pot. Simmer until thick.

Makes about 3 quarts.

Freeze mincemeat in one-cup portions.
