| 4-6 | pounds | chicken broilers | cut up |
| 4 | tablespoons | butter | or margarine, melted |
| 1 | cup | brown sugar | |
| 1/2 | teaspoon | orange zest | grated |
| 1/4 | teaspoon | ginger | ground |
| 1/2 | cup | orange juice | |
| 1 | pound | dark sweet pitted cherries | drained |
Place the cut up chicken in a large baking pan.
Pour the melted butter over the chicken.
Combine the brown sugar, orange peel, ginger, and orange juice, blending well, and pour over the chicken.
Bake in a preheated 350 degree F oven for 45 minutes. Remove and add the cherries, then return to the oven and bake an additional 30 minutes, or until the chicken is golden brown and tender.
