| 3/4 | cup | brown sugar | packed |
| 1 | tablespoon | cinnamon | |
| 2 | teaspoons | baking powder | |
| 1 | teaspoon | salt | |
| 1/2 | teaspoon | baking soda | |
| 3/4 | cup | vegetable oil | |
| 1 | teaspoon | vanilla extract | |
| 3 | large | eggs | |
| 2 | cups | apples | finely chopped |
| 1 | cup | walnuts | chopped |
| Glaze | |||
| 1/2 | cup | powdered sugar | sifted |
| 1/4 | teaspoon | vanilla extract | |
| 2 | teaspoons | milk | |
Generously grease and flour a 10-inch fluted tube pan;set aside.
In a large mixing bowl combine the flours, sugars, cinnamon, baking powder, salt and baking soda.
Add oil, vanilla and the eggs, beat until well mixed. Stir in the chopped apples and walnuts.
Spoon batter evenly into prepared pan. Bake in a 350 F oven for 45-50 minutes, or until cake tests done.
Cool in pan 12 minutes; invert cake onto a wire rack.
Cool thoroughly.
Drizzle top with powdered sugar glaze, or dollops servings with sweetened whipped cream.
Powdered Sugar Glaze: In small mixing bowl, stir together powdered sugar, vanilla and enough milk to make of drizzling consistency. Drizzle over cooled cake.
