does anyone have a recipe for this with no tomato?
Becky shares a "Bold" recipe...
Alright granny I have a bold recipe for my canning friends to try, and don't hate on it if your a canning nazi.
Hot Peppers & Weiners (makes roughly 7 pints)
1 - 32oz ketchup
1 pint white vinegar
3 cups sugar
1/2 cup veg. oil
1 tsp salt
2 cloves garlic
1 gallon diced hot peppers
2 pkgs wieners cut up
Combine all seasonings, bring to a boil. Boil for 10 minutes. Add peppers and weiners return to boil for another 10 minutes only. Immediately place lids/rings on jars. They seal themselves.
**Note. You can play and adjust if you like, I used half jalapenoes and half bell peppers and my hubbs says it is still way hot. Also the longer you let it sit, the hotter it will get, we eat it on cracks for like a snack etc. Enjoy, this came from an older family friend.
