Looking for an old recipe. All of the ones I have found are not the same. You either have to bake them or it is a totally different recipe.
All I can remember is peanut butter and powdered sugar. Take it from me, keep up with those old recipes you really like!

I've yet to find a recipe for peanut butter balls that requires baking. Here's a sampling of 3 found, all similar.

PEANUT BUTTER BALLS

1 1/3 c. creamy peanut butter
1 1/2 sticks butter
1 lb. powdered sugar

Mix and shape in balls about the size of marbles.

----
PEANUT BUTTER BALLS

2 c. powdered sugar
1 1/2 c. peanut butter (chunky or smooth)
3 tbsp. butter
1 tsp. vanilla

Cream all ingredients. Roll in walnut size balls and chill a few hours.
----

PEANUT BUTTER BALLS

1 c. sifted powdered sugar
1/2 c. creamy peanut butter
3 tbsp. butter, softened
1 lb. dipping chocolate or confectioners' sugar

In a mixing bowl, stir together powdered sugar, creamy peanut butter and butter until their combined. Shape candy into 1 inch balls; place balls on a baking sheet lined with waxed paper. Let the balls stand about 20 minutes or until dry.
Melt the dipping chocolate or confectioners' coating. Dip the peanut butter balls into the melted chocolate. Let stand until dry. Store tightly covered in a cool dry place. Makes about 30 pieces.

My mother-in-law makes a microwave only peanut butter ball that calls for peanut butter, Karo Syrup, powdered sugar, and maybe something else. When the syrup is cool enough, you mold balls and finish cooling. They taste like peanut butter brittle if it wasn't hard.

Is that the type of recipe you're looking for? If so, let me know and I'll ask her for it. She makes it with my children when they visit.
