I am interested in a substitution for Cayenne pepper in macaroni and cheese. The recipe calls for 1/4 tsp and I was wondering can I sub it with Chili Powder or something else.
Any help would be appreciated. THANKS

Since the cayenne is just a flavoring agent in your recipe and not an essential ingredient, you may substitute anything that you want. Chili powder would add approximately the same kick. Increase the amount if you want a stronger flavor. Macacroni and Cheese is a great dish to experiment with. You might like to try adding things like granulated garlic (1/2 tsp.), dried parsley (1 tsp.), or parmesan cheese (1/4 cup).
