We used to get amish apple/raisin fritters at the fair. They were amazing.

DUTCH OLIE BOLLEN


2 pkg. yeast
1/2 c. lukewarm water
5 c. whole milk
3 c. raisins
3 tsp. salt
1/3 c. sugar
7 1/2 c. flour
2 Tbsp. oil

Dissolve yeast in lukewarm water. Heat milk to luke-
warm. Add raisins, then flour and oil; stir good. Let rise 15
to 20 minutes. Heat fat and spoon drop Olie Bollen in. Place
Bollen in a paper bag with sugar in it. Shake until Bollen
are coated with sugar.
