MARSHMALLOW TOPPING

2 egg whites

dash of salt

2 Tbsp. Karo syrup

Beat and pour over ice cream

NO-FAIL MERINGUE TOPPING

2 Tbsp. sugar

1/2 c. water

1/8 tsp. salt

1/2 tsp. vanilla

1 Tbsp. cornstarch

3 egg whites

6 Tbsp. sugar

Cook 2 tablespoons sugar, cornstarch and water in small
pan, stirring constantly. Let cool. Beat egg whites, salt and
vanilla until soft mounds form. Add 6 tablespoons sugar and
cooked cornstarch mixture gradually, beating until peaks are
stiff. When baking on pie, bake at 400 degrees for 8 to 10 minutes.
