| 1/2 | cup | peanut butter | crunchy |
| 3/4 | cup | vegetable shortening | |
| 1/2 | cup | brown sugar | |
| 1/2 | cup | sugar | |
| 1 | each | egg | |
| 1/2 | teaspoon | vanilla extract | |
| 1 1/4 | cups | flour, all-purpose | |
| 1/2 | teaspoon | baking soda | |
| 1/4 | teaspoon | salt | |
| 1 | cup | chocolate chips |
Preheat oven to 375.
Cream peanut butter, shortening, sugars, egg and vanilla thoroughly.
Stir together flour baking soda and salt.
Add to creamed mixture; blend well.
Fold in chocolate chips.
Drop batter 2 inches apart onto baking stone.
Bake for 10 to 15 minutes.
Let stand 2 minutes before removing from baking stone.
