| 2 | cups | water | |
| 1/2 | cup | hominy grits | enriched, quick cooking |
| 1/4 | teaspoon | salt | optional |
| 2 | ounces | swiss cheese | shredded |
| 2 | ounces | cheddar cheese | shredded |
| 1/4 | cup | parmesan, parmigiano-reggiano cheese, grated | grated |
| 2 | tablespoons | margarine | or butter |
| 1 | each | egg | beaten |
| 1 | small | garlic clove | minced |
| 1/2 | teaspoon | worcestershire sauce |
Heat oven to 350 F.
Grease 1-quart casserole.
Bring water to a boil; slowly stir in grits and salt.
Return to boil; reduce heat. Simmer 2 to 3 minutes or until thickened, stirring occasionally.
Add cheeses and margarine; stir until melted.
Stir in remaining ingredients. Pour into casserole.
Bake 30 to 35 minutes or until knife inserted in center comes out clean.
MICROWAVE DIRECTIONS:
In 1-quart microwaveable casserole, microwave water at HIGH 4 to 6 minutes or until boiling.
Stir in regular or quick grits and salt.
Microwave at HIGH 3 to 4 minutes or until thickened, stirring once.
Add cheeses and margarine; stir until melted. Stir in remaining ingredients.
Microwave at HIGH 8 to 10 minutes or until knife inserted in center comes out clean, rotating casserole every 3 minutes.
