| 1 | pound | ground beef, lean | |
| 1 | each | egg white | lightly beaten |
| 1/3 | cup | onion | chopped fine |
| 1/4 | cup | crackers, saltine | crumbs |
| 2 | tablespoons | milk | |
| 1 | tablespoon | horseradish | prepared |
| 1/4 | teaspoon | salt | |
| 1/8 | teaspoon | black pepper | |
| 12 | ounces | beef gravy | |
| 1 1/2 | cups | mushrooms | fresh, sliced |
| 2 | tablespoons | water | |
| 1 | x | noodles | hot cooked |
In a bowl, combine beef, egg white, onion, crumbs, milk, horseradish, salt if desired and pepper.
Shape into 4 oval patties.
Fry in skillet over medium heat for 10 to 12 minutes or until cooked through, turning once.
Remove patties and keep warm.
Add gravy, mushrooms and water to skillet; heat for 3 to 5 minutes.
Serve over patties and noodles if desired.

I lived in Thailand, Singapore and Malaysia for 3 years and one of my favorite dishes was Oyster Gai Lan, this is the closest recipe to the dish I was served in all three countries - although it was garnished with sauteed shallot and ginger. Can't tell you how long I've been looking for this recipe from all the local food hawkers in those countries!!
