| 6 | each | herring | pickled, drained |
| 1 | large | onion | chopped |
| 1 | each | garlic clove | crushed |
| 6 | large | eggs | hard-boiled, peeled, chopped |
| 1 | each | apple | cored, chopped |
| 1 | teaspoon | lemon juice | |
| 1 | cup | sour cream | |
| 1/4 | teaspoon | salt | |
| 1/4 | teaspoon | black pepper | |
| 2 | tablespoons | dill weed | dill, fresh, chopped |
Cut herring into small cubes. Mix herring with onion, eggs, apple, and lemon juice.
Combine sour cream, garlic, salt and pepper, add to herring Sprinkle with dill or parsley.
Serve with rye bread.

This is a delicious recipe! I made it 10 yrs ago and still remember how yummy it was!! It's quick, easy, inexpensive and perfect for busy moms who want a healthy meal for their families. I highly recommend you give it a try!!
