| 2 | pounds | chicken | cut up into parts |
| 8 | ounces | pineapple chunks | |
| 1 | cup | chicken broth | |
| 2 | tablespoons | vegetable shortening | |
| 2 | tablespoons | brown sugar | |
| 1/4 | cup | vinegar | |
| 2 | teaspoons | soy sauce | |
| 1 | large | onion | |
| 1 | medium | green bell pepper | |
| 3 | tablespoons | cornstarch | |
| 1/4 | cup | water |
Drain pineapple, reserving syrup. In skillet brown chicken in shortening. Pour off fat. Add reserved syrup, broth, brown sugar, vinegar, soy sauce and garlic. Cover and cook over low heat 40 minutes. Add green pepper amd pineapple cook 5 minutes. Combine cornstarch and water gradually stir into sauce.
I don't know who this Dorothy is, but she makes a mean chicken!!!! Fabulous!!!
