Ingredients

2 cups apples sliced
2/3 cup sugar
1/3 cup brown sugar packed
3 tablespoons cornstarch
1 tablespoon apple jelly
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
3 tablespoons butter or margarine
2 cups cranberries
1 each pie shell (9 inch) unbaked
1/3 cup pecans chopped

Directions

In a heavy saucepan; bring to a boil over medium heat, stirring constantly.

Cook 1 minute, stirring constantly; stir in cranberries.

Pour into pastry shell; sprinkle with pecans.

Bake at 400 for 35 to 40 minutes or until set, covering edges with aluminum foil after 20 minutes.

Cool on a wire.

Sourdough Applesauce Cake

Tried this Jan. 21/01: excellent. A nice fudgy texture. I baked it in a 9" x 13" pan and it came out quite like a snacking cake. I ran out of skim milk powder, so I didn't put any in it and it was just great. The family voted it as a keeper!
