| 1 | cup | brown sugar | |
| 1 | cup | vegetable shortening | |
| 2 | teaspoons | vanilla extract | |
| 1 | cup | sugar | |
| 2 | large | eggs | |
| 2 | tablespoons | milk | |
| 2 | cups | flour, all-purpose | sifted |
| 1 | teaspoon | baking powder | |
| 1 | teaspoon | baking soda | |
| 1 | teaspoon | salt | |
| 2 | cups | quick oats, uncooked |
Cream together sugars and shortening.
Blend in eggs, vanilla and milk.
Sift together flour, baking soda, baking powder and salt.
Add all at once to egg mixture.
Beat until smooth. Add oats. Drop by teaspoon onto greased cookie sheet .
Bake at 350F degrees for 8 to 10 minutes.
