Ingredients

1 cup brown sugar
2 cups whole wheat flour
2 tablespoons lard or butter
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon baking powder
2 large eggs
1 pint sour milk

Directions

Mix all together and bake 45 - 60 minutes in moderate oven.

Note: Moderate oven is 350 - 400 F.

Skillet Strawberry Cookies

This is one of my favorite holiday recipes. My grandmother made these for me when i was a child. Although the red sugar will turn your fingers a delightful red, this is a sure sign for the kids that their favorite cookie is on the way!! Also, the coconut is optional. Delicious.
