| 1 | cup | sugar | |
| 3/4 | cup | vegetable oil | |
| 2 | large | eggs | |
| 1 1/2 | cups | flour, all-purpose | |
| 1 | cup | walnuts | chopped |
| 1 | teaspoon | baking soda | |
| 1 | dash | salt | |
| 1 | teaspoon | vanilla extract | |
| 2 | cups | apple | chopped, unpeeled |
| Icing | |||
| 4 | tablespoons | butter | |
| 1 | teaspoon | vanilla extract | |
| 1/2 | pound | powdered sugar | |
Mix sugar and oil.
Add eggs, beat until fluffy.
Sift dry ingredients together and add to sugar, oil, and egg mixture.
Blend in vanilla.
Fold in black walnuts and chopped apples.
Pour into a well greased and floured loaf pan.
Bake at 350 degrees F for 40 minutes.
Icing: Soften butter and blend with powdered sugar.
Add vanilla.
Use cream to blend to a spreadable consistency.
Spread on cake.
