OK Frito pie.. easy..

1 large bag of Fritos
1 can of wolf brand chili (any brand will do it
that is my favorite,
with or without beans
is up to you)
1 medium size bag of shredded cheese
(I use sharp chedder, chedder will work,
kraft sells a mix of 3 mexican cheese,
use what makes you happy)
(OPTIONAL)
1/4 onion chopped
1 Jalapenio chopped
(if you or your son likes these add em... if not 86 em)

Directions: Pre-Heat the oven to 350. In a 2 inch deep baking pan, sprinkle one layer of Fritos down to cover the bottom of the pan. Spoon out a layer of chili to cover the Frito layer. Sprinkle the shredded cheese over the chili layer. (ADD 1/2 of your onions here) THEN: repeat with the next layer: Fritos, Chili, Cheese, (onions) At the top layer add the remainder of the cheese and for a spicy dish add the Jalapenios on top.
Place the dish pan in the oven and leave for 10 min. Check to see if cheese on the top layer is melted and keep checking every so minites untill ready. Because the wolf brand chili is already cooked it is safe to eat at whatever temp.
I love this meal and it is great for kids. As a side dish try some fruit salad, sliced peaches, whatever makes you happy. (and for the adults I recommend a bottle of Maalox or tums :)

My husband's family has a quick stovetop method they call "Frito Boats".
Simply heat some canned or homemade chili and shred some cheddar cheese.
Assembly: put a small handfull of Frito chips in the bottom of a cereal bowl, top with hot chili, then top with shredded cheese.
It's considered a family 'comfort food', as is tuna casserole and a unique family recipe for potato salad.
