I HAVE A RECIPE THAT CALLS FOR LIGHT CREAM. IS LIGHT CREAM THE SAME AS WHIPPING CREAM?

No, its different. Light cream is often called coffee cream or table cream; it has a lower fat content & cannot be whipped. Some substitutes can be evaporated milk OR 1/2&1/2

Heavy cream is also called whipping cream; has higher fat content
