Ingredients

1 pound pinto beans dried
6 cups water cold
1/2 pound salt pork cut up
1 pound beef chuck steak cut into 1 inch cubes
1 each red chili pepper
1 each onion chopped
2 each garlic cloves minced
6 ounces tomato paste
1 1/2 tablespoons chili powder
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon cumin seeds
1/2 teaspoon marjoram

Directions

Soak beans in water overnight.

Brown salt pork in skillet or slow-cooking pot with browning unit.

In slow-cooking pot, combine soaked beans (with water),

browned pork, and remaining ingredients.

Cover and cook on low for 9 to 10 hours.
