| 1 | pound | pinto beans | dried |
| 6 | cups | water | cold |
| 1/2 | pound | salt pork | cut up |
| 1 | pound | beef chuck steak | cut into 1 inch cubes |
| 1 | each | red chili pepper | |
| 1 | each | onion | chopped |
| 2 | each | garlic cloves | minced |
| 6 | ounces | tomato paste | |
| 1 1/2 | tablespoons | chili powder | |
| 1 | teaspoon | salt | |
| 1 | teaspoon | cumin seeds | |
| 1/2 | teaspoon | marjoram |
Soak beans in water overnight.
Brown salt pork in skillet or slow-cooking pot with browning unit.
In slow-cooking pot, combine soaked beans (with water),
browned pork, and remaining ingredients.
Cover and cook on low for 9 to 10 hours.

Not that I need an excuse to be naughty or indulgent, but with Halloween right around the corner I thought some wicked recipes...
Great recipe, I made this recipe and served it with smashed potatoes, and they were perfect together, delicious and easy too. Yes, at least four star recipe.
