Ingredients

12 ounces beans, dried
5 cups water
2 cups ham cooked, diced
1 cup celery chopped
1 cup onion diced
1/2 cup carrots minced fine
1 teaspoon seasoned salt
2 teaspoons beef bouillon granules or bouillon
1 teaspoon chicken bouillon, powdered or bouillon
1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes
1 pinch dill weed
1 pinch caraway seeds
1 clove garlic minced

Directions

If using beans other than Lima's. To make sure the beans are tender at the end of the cooking time, soak beans overnight, or boil on stovetop for 10 minutes prior to adding them to the crockpot.

Combine all ingredients in crockpot. Cook on low 8 hours or until beans are tender.

Notes: Use 4 cups water for Baby Lima beans.

Use 2 tb dried vegetables in place of 1 c fresh.

Use 1 tb dried carrot tops in place of sliced fresh carrots.

This is a good dish, if you like beans. I think it is better with hot links than ham.
